Vetro Education are seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work across Primary schools in Aberdare. The schools support learners in both Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2 and as a result Vetro Education are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants in or around Aberdare who are experienced in these roles

Overview:

• Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant - HLTA

• Pay: £100 per day minimum

• Location: Aberdare

• Hours: Ad Hoc, Short Term and Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a HLTA

• Deliver pre-planned work to the class in the absence of the Class Teacher
• Supporting and supervising educational games, sports and craft activities
• Helping children with their reading
• Preparing the classroom for a lesson
• Working with pupils in small groups/ and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
• Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
• Assist pupils at break time with their lunch
• Engage pupils in the classroom and out of classroom activities
• Work in accordance to the schools behaviour management policies

The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a HLTA

• At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role would be beneficial
• Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or degree educated as a minimum
• Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
• References covering the last two years (no gaps)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
