Youth Support Worker

Location: Primary School, Leeds

Start Date: ASAP

Specialisation: Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH), Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Responsibilities: Intervention group work

Salary: �90-�105 per day

Description: A Primary School in Leeds is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Worker to join their team immediately. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to students with SEMH and SEN requirements.
  • Conduct intervention group work to address specific needs of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and assess progress of students, adjusting interventions as needed.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH and SEN.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards the needs of children with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, social work, or related fields preferred.
