Youth Justice OfficerWalthamstowBe responsible for supervising young people on court orders and working with complex families in accordance with statutory obligations, National Standards. The aim of this supervision it to reduce their rates of re-offending, and thus improve their future prospects, and increase the safety of the residents of the borough. The post holder will be part of the inter-disciplinary Youth Offending Service that provides community and through care services to young people who progress through the Criminal Justice process.Key Duties Providing timely and high quality reports to the court and to Referral Order Panels; Encouraging compliance by young people with their court order and taking enforcement action in accordance with National Standards in cases of non-compliance; Recording evidence of the supervision of the young offender on the YOS's information systems in accordance with local standards. Conducting home visits and prison visits in accordance with National Standards Meeting the holistic needs of the young person by adopting an end-to-end supervision approach to the young person and their carersTo work in partnership with the young person, their parents, professionals in the YOS and partner agencies and volunteers to help achieve the objectives of the young person's supervision plan.
