*A Snapshot of the Residential Support Worker *Interested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find out what skills, experience and educational qualifications are needed.As a Residential worker you will be required dependent on referrals to work across the Leeds/Wakefield area. Our Group Living homes collaboratively work with each young person to provide comprehensive support, working towards independence. Working a 2 day in/4 days off shift pattern and whilst on shift you will be there to support the young people to develop the practical skills needed to live well independently, such as cooking and budgeting. You will also be expected to support and encourage young people to engage with education/training or employment.*About You*The young people are at the heart of everything you will do day to day fromupdating risk assessments to supporting your young people to their meetings.You will need to be resilient but also able to empathise without judgement. You will need to have good interpersonal skills, must be able to resolve issues and have goodresilience skills as well as be a good problem solver. You also need to be ITliterate, as we need to produce daily and monthly reports for each of the youngpeople, but most importantly, you need to have a passion for working andsupporting young people on their transition from childhood and adulthood tooindependence.*To be successful in this role these are the essential skills needed*:* Experience working with and coaching young people aged 16+.* Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable young people* Have or be willing to work towards NVQ 3 Health & Social Care* Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour and complex issues* IT literate* Good interpersonal skills* Driving Licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use_*At Bedspace, we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children and vulnerable people in our work.
