Job Advert: YOS Operations Manager
Service Care Solutions is assisting the London Borough of Lambeth in recruiting a dedicated YOS Operations Manager. We are looking for a dynamic individual to manage and lead the multi-agency Youth Offending Service (YOS) to prevent offending and re-offending by children and young people.
Role: YOS Operations Manager
Location: Based across various locations in the London Borough of Lambeth
Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term
Contract Duration: 24 Months
Salary Range: £31.89 - £39.89 per hour
Main Responsibilities:
Day-to-day operational management of the Youth Offending Service in line with council policies and national standards.
Leadership and development of the YOS team, including formal supervision, workload management, performance appraisal, and training.
Strategic planning and implementation of interventions to reduce youth offending.
Managing high-risk cases and ensuring compliance with local and national policies.
Collaborating with partner agencies to deliver effective youth justice services.
Preparing and presenting strategic reports, managing budgets, and representing YOS in various professional settings.
Key Requirements:
Degree in Social Work (HCPC registered) or Community Justice with a Level 5 Diploma in Probation Studies.
Minimum of three years post-qualifying experience and extensive line management experience in a youth justice setting.
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation including the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the Children's Act 1989.
Proven experience in developing high-quality Youth Justice Services and effective practice methods.
Strong operational management skills and experience in a multi-agency environment.
