Job Title: Year 4 Teaching Assistant

Location: Nottingham city

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of a Nottingham Primary Academy that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join the dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers to support the learning and development of students in Year 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Year 4 class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students who may require additional assistance with their learning.
  • Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Prepare and organise learning materials and resources for lessons and activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their participation and engagement in learning.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during break times, outings, and other school activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support the overall development and well-being of students.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Understanding of the primary curriculum and strategies for supporting student learning.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) is required.
