Yacht Claims Assessor INTERVIEWS SCHEDULED LAST WEEK OF MAY - SEND YOUR CV NOW. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Claims Manager to join a specialist Lloyd’s of London broker based in the City. This role offers the chance to be part of a small yet knowledgeable team, managing a growing portfolio of UK and international business,
with a primary focus on international yacht claims. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for career growth and to eventually oversee a larger claims department. Day to Day of the role:
Handle yacht claims from First Notification of Loss (FNOL) to settlement.Maintain an effective reserving policy and manage claims payments efficiently.Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, the internal yacht team, and producers, ensuring transparency in the progress of claims.Manage claims within an agreed threshold and liaise with insurers for claims above the threshold for notification, approval, and payment.Communicate actively with the Finance department regarding claims settlements on behalf of insurers.Shape, implement, and deliver a claims strategy in association with the Management Team.Manage effective monthly and quarterly reporting to the Management Team, including accurate monthly claims bordereau production.Provide knowledge and oversight of the yacht portfolio to advise on underwriting.Raise Debit Notes/Invoices and Credit Notes on the in-house company system.Manage the workload of the part-time yacht claims assistant and others as the team grows.Address any other ad-hoc requirements needed by the company to support the claims function. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Prior experience in managing marine claims, with a focus on yacht claims.Understanding of both the international market and Lloyd’s markets.Ability to prioritise and delegate effectively.Strong relationship management skills.Excellent communication and organisational abilities.Ambitious, open-minded, and ready to take on a growing role within the company.
