Writer seeks experienced film director for short film

Remuneration: Paid hourly - London Living Wage MinimumDescriptionLooking for an experienced film director, experience can be student or professional, for a short film which is applying for the BFI Network Short Film Fund.My name is Morag Sims and I am a neurodivergent writer, actor and voice artist and I have written a 15min black comedy featuring two neurodivergent characters. I am diagnosed ADHD and also identify as Autistic (awaiting assessment). I am putting together an application for the BFI Network Short Film Fund in which I will be the Producer/Writer and I am seeking an experienced film director to come on board and be included in the application.The fee for this job would be paid on an hourly basis at a minimum of £13.15 ph (London Living Wage) – the exact amount would depend on the budget put forward for the BFI application, though it would never be below the above minimum. Any work that needs to be undertaken before the application deadline and/or the subsequent result of the application would be paid for at the above minimum. If we are unsuccessful in getting funding from the BFI then we will be exploring other avenues of funding but the job is not guaranteed.I welcome applications from directors who have a lived experience of neurodivergence, particularly ADHD, ASD & AuDHD.The deadline for submissions is 9am on Monday 29th April.I plan to hold Zoom interviews on the 30th April & the 1st May.I expect to make my decision on the 2nd May.I will inform every applicant of my decision either way.Job Requirements:– Must have film directing experience – this can be student and/or professional.– Must have example/s of your directing work which can be viewed.Job Responsibilities:Responsibilities prior to BFI application deadline (but are not limited to):– Going through the script and application prior to submission to the BFI Short Film Fund:You would be expected to have a look at the script and suggest any tweaks for the application.You would also be expected to supply information about yourself (such as CV, links to work etc) for the application.I would also appreciate your creative input into the application, such as, how you would like the film to look etc.Responsibilities if we secure funding and we are able to proceed to filming include (but are not limited to):– Pre-production meetings leading up to filming.– Helping with recruiting a crew.– Directing the film.– Working with an editor and the writer to edit the film.– Being involved in promotion of the film if we take it to festivals.To apply please send:– A CV or link to an online CV.– Example/s of your directing work.– A short note about yourself and your work:This can be an email, a voice recording or a short video, whichever is easiest/most comfortable for you.
