Workshop Duty Manager

We're seeking a motivated Workshop Duty Manager to join our team at Heathrow Airport. In this role, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Ramp & Recovery services, delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest safety standards.
What You'll Do:
Oversee all Breakdown, Recovery, and Preventative Maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to HAL airside regulations.
Champion safety for all staff, both airside and landside, by proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
Lead a team of technicians, providing effective performance management, training, and development.
Prioritize resources effectively, allocating tasks to meet customer demands and SLAs.
Manage parts inventory, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely completion of work orders.
Drive team productivity and continuous improvement through data analysis and problem-solving.
Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, fostering collaboration.
Deputize for the Operations Manager as needed.
The Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience in a similar leadership role within a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety regulations and best practices.
GSE Experience (Ground Support Equipment).
Motor mechanics experience with LGV & heavy vehicles (desirable).
Qualification in health and safety like IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable).
Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification (desirable).
HGV & PSV license (desirable).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Experience in managing and motivating a team.
Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Benefits:
Potential for a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM schedule with flexibility.
Possibility of a 4-day on, 4-day off shift pattern.
