We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Duty Manager to join the team at Heathrow airport. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be accountable for managing the Heathrow Ramp & Recovery operations to deliver outstanding levels of customer service, whilst maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.



Main Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Ensure all Breakdowns, Recoveries and Preventative works are carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with HAL regulations for Airside working.  

  • Be accountable for the safety and wellbeing of all staff Airside and Landside.

  • Pro-actively investigate all safety incidents and implement mitigation to prevent re-occurrence. 

  • Report all accidents, incidents and Near Miss occurrences accordingly.  

  • Attend Monthly Safety Governance Group Meetings and progress agreed safety actions to closure.    

  • Make sure work completed by Employees, Suppliers or Contractors is carried out in accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and SSOW’s.

  • Conduct regular PPE audits and quality assurance checks to ensure excellent safety standards are always maintained.

  • Manage mandatory training to ensure compliance is maintained at all times.  

  • Effectively manage your Team using company agreed policies for performance, absence, grievance and disciplinary.

  • Manage Pro-time ensuring on-time clocking in and out.

  • Complete Personal Development Reviews (PDR) with your team and identify any training, development or knowledge gaps.

  • Manage the training plan for your Team.

  • Manage and prioritize resources to ensure the right technical expertise is available to meet demand.

  • Ensure that jobs are allocated in an organized and effective manor to maintain SLA’s and customer operational requirements.

  • Effectively allocate all P1 , P2 and  P3 jobs to Technicians confirming response times meet contractual targets.

  • Ensure that parts requests are managed effectively, costs are confirmed and all ordered parts fitted.

  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately with all required information and photos. 

  • Provide SAP support to your Team as required.

  • Drive productivity and efficiencies using data from SAP.

  • Deliver regular Toolbox Talks to ensure colleagues are informed, engaged, consulted and valued.

  • Take ownership of the Ramp vehicle fleet , tools and equipment. 

  • Build and maintain effective and meaningful relationships with all Customer & 3rd party stake holders.

  • Continually be prepared for Operational Readiness and peak days.

  • Use data, trend analysis and structured problem solving techniques to drive continuous improvement.

  • Attend and participate in daily operational conference calls.

  • Track and report on flight delays and customer disruption.

  • Reduce Third Party dependency and apply correct authority process.

  • Deputise for the Operations Manager as and when necessary.

  • Pro-actively undertake any other reasonable duties where required.





Qualifications:



GSE Experience



Motor mechanics – LGV & heavy vehicles (desirable)



IOSH/NEBOSH  (desirable)



CPC (desirable)



HGV & PSV license (desirable)



Airside Pass will be required



Airside Driving Permit will be required



Shifts



Monday to Friday 8am – 16:30 (with flexibility)



Possible options of 4 on 4 off 12hr shifts
