The Group is currently ranked second in the world for nuclear engineering.To ensure a viable, efficient, and reliable energy future for all.Job DescriptionBackgroundThe Client’s Safety Management System (SMS) has grown organically over many decades alongside the evolution of its sites, plant, equipment and operations. Its management arrangements and supporting processes and procedures for nuclear, conventional HSE and radiological protection are not integrated, fail to provide clear traceability of compliance, are not user friendly, not managed holistically and in many cases fail to meet Relevant Good Practice (RGP).A Safety Management Arrangements (SMA) improvement project is now in progress to review, rationalise, update and simplify the Client’s SMAs to provide a simple, integrated suite of management arrangements and supporting processes and procedures that allow demonstrable compliance, are simpler to follow, support operational needs and easier are to manage.Support is required for the ongoing SMA improvement project until its completion, which is estimated to be in Q4 2025.As a result of work already completed, the structure of the SMAs has now been finalised and agreed. A single Standard with supporting Processes on a Page (POAP) and Process Instructions (PI) (and other supporting documents as required) will be produced for a defined suite of functions/topics. These in turn will support ONR Licence Condition compliance as well all relevant UK legislation.Production of procedure / process documents including:Overarching Control of Work Standard.Update to Work InstructionCreation of Process on a Page.Creation of new site arrangements (per operable location).Creation of a Work Control Centre Process on a Page (per operable location).Update or create supporting TX forms.Update procurement procedure to include ConCo and CDM requirements.My profileSkills / Experience required:Experience of working onControl of Work activities on a nuclear licensed site.Extensive knowledge of construction and contractor control arrangements and support documentation attaining to Licence Condition, UK legislation and RGP.Working knowledge and understanding of all phases of contruction including: Pre-Construction, Construction (CDM) experience, HSE Safety Planning, enabling works, Temporary Works, Handover to Commissioning or Operations.Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will require Security clearance.
