The successful candidate will become the subject matter expert on the key contractual frameworks governing Cuckoo’s partnership with APF, as well as holding responsibility for day-to-day management and evolution of this critical partner relationship. This role requires a high level of commercial diligence, ability to grasp complexities within complex commercial agreements, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry.
What you'll do:
Manage and nurture the relationship with our principal network supplier, All Points Fibre, ensuring alignment with Cuckoo’s business objectives, our end customers’ needs, and maintaining an effective ongoing partnership.
Negotiate terms and conditions of partnership agreements, including pricing, volume commitments, marketing support, and service level agreements. Ensure that contracts are legally sound and protect the interests of the company.
Act as the primary point of contact for all commercial communication with APF, facilitating regular meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and discussions to address any issues or opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Operations, Regulatory and Finance, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of activities related to the supplier relationship.
Oversee adherence to the terms of the Master Service Agreement (MSA) in-life, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and leading continuous optimization of commercial terms to maximize value for Cuckoo.
Identify points of exposure and commercial risks arising from supplier relationships and work with stakeholders to mitigate these successfully.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality within the supplier relationship.
Ensure sufficient accurate and timely management reporting is in place to be able to reconcile orders placed with invoices, charges and credits from the supplier. Where there is misalignment, the Commercial Manager will work with the supplier to resolve to this. Track and analyse key performance metrics related to prepare and present regular performance reports, metrics, and analyses to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making. Handle any disputes or escalations that may arise during the course of the relationship, working towards amicable resolutions while safeguarding Cuckoo's company interests.
Stay up to date withrelevant regulations, policies, and compliance requirements (eg data protection) governing the telecommunications sector, ensuring adherence in all dealings with the supplier. You should apply if you have: Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on management of complex supplier/partner relationships and commercial agreements.
Strong understanding of wholesale telecommunications services, including fibre optic networks (Full Fibre or FTTP), connectivity solutions, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, andthe ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
An analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and financial modelling to evaluate commercial opportunities and risks.
Demonstrated project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Sound knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and regulatory frameworks governing the telecommunications sector.
A proactive, results-oriented approach with a focus on delivering value and driving continuous improvement.
The ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks concurrently while maintaining attention to detail.
