Welding Quality Engineer

Astute's Nuclear team is exclusively partnering with the leading provider of nuclear support services in the UK to recruit a Nuclear Welding Quality Engineer to implement quality control requirements on EDF sites.
The Nuclear Welding Quality Engineer is essential to ensure specified quality standards are met and lifetime records are comprehensively maintained to validate the conformity acceptance of the delivered product or service. The role comes with a salary up to �48,000, pension and more.

Responsibilities and duties
As the Nuclear Welding Quality Engineer you will:

• Promote Quality Management system awareness
• Review and update site quality plan
• Produce and review Inspection and Test Plans and monitor compliance
• Produce Work Packs
• Complete Weld Inspection (only if CSWIP) qualified
• Review material certification (Code/Standard and Specification Requirement)
• Monitor and co-ordinate NDT
• Assist in resolving quality problems; NCRs, TQs, Concessions, Material Traceability (MARs), relevant technical authorities
• Support weld process controls 'WeldEye', TQS, weld card production, NDT requests and feedback, including weld inspection (training to be provided)
• Complete QC

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Possess a minimum qualification of NVQ level 3 in an engineering related field
• Ideally hold CSWIP/PCN certificate in Welding Inspection

Personal skills
The Nuclear Welding Quality Engineer role would suit someone who has:

• Great communication skills with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the business
• A full UK driving licence
• Ability to travel and stay away from home when needed
• The ability to obtain UK security clearance
