We are working with our client who are an established manufacturing company in Sunderland in their search for Welding Engineer. This role would be idea for someone with a background in materials and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards in the welding process.
- Oversee and participate in inspections at various production stages.
- Identify and address non-conformities in welding procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support inspection and auditing processes.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of welding processes and procedures.
- Assist in innovation, process development, and the implementation of standard operating procedures.
- Monitor and enhance welder performance, ensuring compliance with sequences and standard operating procedures.
- Control and mitigate distortion in welding processes.
- Interpret engineering drawings and international specifications.
- Inspect materials, welds, dimensions, and painting processes for quality assurance.
- Stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements in welding.
- Provide training and development support to enhance the skills of the welding team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
- Collaborate with suppliers and conduct inspections at supplier premises.
- Apply knowledge of welding management systems, such as ISO9001 and ISO3834.
- Familiarity with relevant materials used in welding
- Address quality-related issues in a methodical and logical manner.
- Communicate information clearly at all levels within the organization.
The Person:
- Knowledge of quality and welding management systems ISO9001 and ISO3834.
- Competence in welder monitoring, weld sequences/SOP, and distortion control.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and international specifications.
