Job Title: Welder
Location:
Govan & Scotstoun - Glasgow
Salary:
£36,217 (Shift allowance of 33% (£48,168) for Back, Night & Weekend shifts)
Overtime Rates:
Mon – Thurs: Time and a third
Friday: Time and a half for the first 4 hours, double time from then on
Saturday: Time and a half
Sunday: Double time
Shift Patterns:
Mon – Thurs
Day Shift: 07:00 – 16:30
Back Shift: 14:00 – 23:30
Night Shift 20:30 – 06:00
Fri – Sun
Weekend: 07:00 – 19:30

Your main responsibilities as a Welder will involve:
Welding different materials (carbon & stainless steel & aluminium)
Welding using different welding processes i.e., Manual Metal Arc, Meta Inert Gas, Automatic & Semi-Automatic Machine Welding (Submerged - Arc & KAT) & Resistance Welding (Stud Welding)
Welding butts and fillets to a high standard
Main process – FCAW / MAG - using ceramic tiles
Self-verification on all welds
Adhering to all she related standards associated with welding, including fume control
Your skills and qualifications:
Trade papers e.g. Formal Apprenticeship (required to provide papers)
Ceramic Tile Welding Experience
knowledge and experience in Welding and use of associated equipment
Capable of all positional welding
Flux core experience (FCAW)
Understanding of manufacturing processes
Deposit welds that pass both visual and NDE examinations
Materials experience of welding carbon steel thickness 4-10mm range
Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH (Safety, Health and Environment) risks awareness
Background in major construction / manufacturing environment
Welding with MCAW consumables
Welding aluminium with MIG process
Welding with automated equipment
