As a Welder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity of various materials used in Defence projects. Join a dynamic team and contribute to the successful completion of high-profile Defence projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding different materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
- Utilising various welding processes, such as Manual Metal Arc, Metal Inert Gas, Automatic & Semi-Automatic Machine Welding (Submerged-Arc & KAT), and Resistance Welding (Stud Welding)
- Maintaining high standards in welding butts and fillets
- Performing FCAW/MAG welding using ceramic tiles
- Ensuring self-verification on all welds
- Adhering to all safety, health, and environmental standards associated with welding
Job Requirements:
- Trade papers, such as a formal apprenticeship, are mandatory
- Knowledge and experience in Ceramic Tile Welding
- Proficiency in welding and the use of associated equipment
- Experience with flux core arc welding
- Ability to perform deposit welds that pass visual and non-destructive examinations
- Materials experience in welding carbon steel within the thickness range of 4-10mm
- Clear understanding of safety, health, and COSHH risks
- Background in a major construction or manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience with welding using MCAW consumables
- Knowledge of MIG welding for aluminium
- Experience with automated welding equipment
