My client I am representing are a small precision engineering company based in Cambridge. They specialise in delivering high-quality metal fabrication and sheet metal services to a diverse range of industries, including automotive, aerospace and electronics. They are now looking to bring on an experience Welder to their team.

(Welder) - Position Overview

  • Perform TIG and MID welding operations according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • fabricate and weld component using various metals including stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate weld and dimensions.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify weld integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Operate welding equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to opitmise workflow and meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving welding-related issues as they arise.
  • Continuously strive to improve welding techniques and process to enhance overall efficiency and quality.

(Welder) - Position Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Welder, with proficiency in TIG and MIG welding techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal work and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and welding symbols
  • Familiarity with various welding equipment and tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in executing welds.
  • Solid understanding of welding safety procedures and best practices.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in welding (e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ) are desirable but not essential.

(Welder) - Position Remuneration

  • Pay rate: �14 - �17 per hour
  • Monday - Thursday
  • 7am - 5pm
  • 40 hours per week
  • Friday overtime available
  • Overtime paid at time and a half
  • On site parking
  • Company Pension
  • 28 days holiday, including bank holidays.
