Sheet Metal Welder/ Fabricator required for a busy sheet metal engineering workshop.

About the Company:

Our Client based company specialising in Prototypes & Low Volume Production Sheet Metal Pressings, Stampings and Fabrication to the Highest Quality, working in many different sectors. Customers include Ford motors, Lockheed Martin, Warner brothers and McLaren.

ROLE:

Welder Fabricator candidates must be able to read engineering drawings, understand tolerances / bend allowances / being experienced in / fabrication and sheet-metal machinery.
Duties include Welding and fabrication in stainless steel, Aluminium, and mild steel material 1.0mm - 12mm thickness including pipework.
The Ability to make assembly weld fixtures.
MIG welding both sub and main assemblies either on a fabrication JIG or freehand.
Sanding\Grinding components or assemblies to achieve the stated dimensions and finish.

Requirements:

The role requires manual lifting so applicants should be fit and able.
Actively seek opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
Significant experience of thin gauge TIG & MIG welding
Sheet Metal Fabrication experience
Be able to fabricate Stainless steel, Aluminium and Mild steel.
The ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
City & Guilds Qualifications in welding and fabrication / Apprentice in Engineering would be an advantage.
