Weekend Welfare Officer

BDS have an exciting opportunity for a Weekend Welfare Officer to form part of a response service in the North East.

The post holder will work Saturday and Sunday mornings to complete morning welfare checks for older adults in 5 sheltered housing schemes across the Stanly and County Durham areas. The service supports clients who have telecare equipment installed and is an important part of ongoing welfare support to clients to ensure they are safe and well each day.

There is no personal care involved.

The role is to work alternate weekends and will take approximately 4 hours each day. You will be an approachable and empathetic person who is flexible, committed and reliable. Experience in a social care or housing background would be an advantage though not essential for the right person.

A full driving license will be required. For an ideal logistical fit you will live closely to Hexham/Consett.

The rate of pay is £11.44 per hour with an uplift for bank holidays, this is a permanent position.
