We are committed to excellence, not only in our people but also across our diverse portfolio of products:Our ratings, which provide consumers with expert guidance at-a-glance when purchasing financial productsThe most widely used financial planning software in the UK market; andMission critical technology that helps product manufacturers to optimise the financial products that they take to market.The OpportunityWe are excited to invite applications for the position of Wealth & Protection Manager (Insights), which hascome about due to an internal move.You willrepresent Defaqto in the Wealth & Protection marketplace as a significant thought leader within UK Financial Services, with focus on protection, pensions and platforms.What’s the purpose of your role?This role is one of a hybrid nature, combining the management of a small team of Insight professionals and the ownership of one or more Wealth & Protectionproduct areas.You will also lead, manage and develop a team of financial product experts to generate revenue and commercial opportunities through the development and execution of Insight-based products and services.A key part of the role will be to work closely with the Production Manager (Star & Service Ratings) in the creation, production and delivery of a range of relevant ratings and services.Please note: this is not an IT role or a data analyst position. It requires specific knowledge and experience of UK wealth and protection products.What you’ll doEffective management of a team of Insight professionalsOversight of ratings and tables product areaActively participate in the evolution and development of the broader Insight team, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting open communication, ownership, and a growth mindset.Delegate effectively, empowering team members, and provide coaching and mentorship to develop their skills and careers.Develop and maintain an agreed strategic directional plan for Wealth & Protection.Keep up to date with developments within UK Financial Services.Maintain and develop credibility and authority as a significant thought leader within UK Financial Services.Represent Defaqto at industry forums and events in a speaking capacity and act as a Defaqto media spokesperson.Provide specialist financial product knowledge to support the development of Defaqto’s business strategy.Liaise effectively with relevant individuals to identify the future information needs of product providers, financial advisers and Defaqto’s products and services.Work closely and collaboratively with a broad range of internal departments and external clients.Work with the relevant Production Managers to manage the formulation, maintenance and development of methodologies to create Ratings, reflecting the quality of financial products and services.Identify, evaluate and develop opportunities for new Ratings, with a clear focus upon commercial viability.Support the management of the annual Ratings update cycle.What you’ll need to succeedThe capability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Be comfortable working in a self-motivated, independent and proactive fashion, with a strong drive for results and sense of urgency.People and team management skills, to include recruitment, performance management and development.Leadership skills, to include the ability to inspire and motivate a team of experts to high levels of performance.The ability to think and act strategically.A high standard of written and verbal communication skills.Be able to demonstrate creative and critical thinking, problem solving and effective decision making.The capacity to plan and prioritise a busy workload to meet deadlines.Extensive technical knowledge related to the areas covered by the Wealth & Protection team.The capability to undertake data analysis, manipulation and interpretation, with high levels of accuracy.Excellent working knowledge of the UK retail financial services and financial advice markets - specifically within wealth and protection.QualificationsA relevant degree or equivalent intellectual ability, demonstrated through experience.Our ApproachIt’s also important that you live our values as these are fundamental to our purpose as an organisation, so be sure to Think Big, Be Bold, Own It, Team Up and Be A Star!Fintel plc and all the businesses within it adopt a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination on any of the protected grounds in the Equality Act 2010.We are committed to providing equal opportunities to all current and prospective employees regardless of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage and civil partnership.We aspire to have a diverse workforce because, in our view, diversity enables better business outcomes.
