Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Water Specialist within the Sustainability team. This role will be based on site inColeshill. Our head office is located within an excellent location easily accessible via the M6 and M42. The office is also accessible via rail, and we offer employees a shuttle bus transfer to our office from Birmingham international.The role of Water Specialist / Water Co-ordinator is primarily a technical/administrative role that will ensure compliance through regular review of required consented and permitted monitoring. The Water Specialist/ Water Co-ordinator identifies changes in data trends and proactively looks to identify the root cause of this with the Water Specialist Team. The Water Specialist / Water Co-ordinator is responsible for communicating all data to BBV (e.g. Environmental Manager of the Sublots, other Water Specialists) and to ensure they are aware of any breaches to consent and updating them with any associated action plan that may have been put in place to resolve an issue, with all relevant outcomes.Experienced required:Relevant degree or experience e.g. geology, geography, or environmental science.Good understanding of environmental issues in a work environment.An understanding of environmental legislation and principles of environmental management systems 140001; ability to work as part of the team to ensure compliance.Experience of construction of large-scale infrastructure projects.Good IT skills and confident in the use of Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Full driving licence and ability to work at multiple locations.Please note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.Benefits of working with us• Flexible working available for some roles• Travel allowance for eligible candidates• Family friendly leave policies• Health risk assessments• Access to employee assistance programmes• Access to annual flu vaccinationsAbout Balfour Beatty VINCIBalfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond.
