The Client



Our client who specialises within the Water Treatment industry are currently looking to recruit a mobile based Water Hygiene Technician to work as part of their Water Treatment & Legionella Control Team.





The Role



The role of the Water Hygiene Technician is to complete water hygiene services on behalf of my client’s company portfolio, ensuring that all works comply with the requirements of ACOP L8 & HSG274. The Water Hygiene Technician will be the primary point of contact for clients during works on site and are responsible for the Health and Safety aspects of activities as well as ensuring all required reports are completed in a professional and timely fashion.





Key Responsibilities 




  • To carry out Legionella and TVC sampling and record results

  • Clean and disinfections of water systems including hot and cold-water systems

  • Water temperature monitoring

  • Cooling towers system analysis/treatment

  • Clean and disinfections of water systems including cooling towers, water storage tanks and showers

  • Inspections of water tanks/cooling towers

  • Taking water samples

  • TMV servicing

  • Writing weekly reports





Experience and Qualifications Required




  • Full working knowledge of ACoP L8 and HSG274

  • Holder of current UK driving licence

  • Willingness to have a DBS check

  • Holder of a relevant H&S qualification/passport

  • At least one years’ experience in Legionella Control services

  • Experience of temperature monitoring of hot and cold-water systems

  • Experience with clean and disinfection techniques for cooling towers / water storage tanks / calorifiers /showers

  • Experience of inspection of cooling towers / water tanks





The Rewards



A competitive starting rate of £18 – £20 per hour per hour based on a typical 40-hour week. The role is offered on an initial freelance / temporary rate but potentially there could be the opportunity for a permanent position for the right person.
