Posted 1 day ago Full Job DescriptionJob Category : EnvironmentalLocation : Mercury House,North Yorkshire County CouncilHours Per Week : 37.00StartDate : Immediate startStart Time : 08:45End Time :17:15Salary: £11.18MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:Toprovide administration and word processing support to meet the needsof the Waste and Street Scene business plan.SUPERVISION ANDGUIDANCE:Reports directly to the Waste and Street SceneManagerRANGE OF DECISION MAKING:Day to day operationalissues concerning own workloadRESPONSIBILITY FOR ASSETS,MATERIALS, ETC:Responsible for filing systems and maintainingdatabases and statistical informationRANGE OF DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIESTo support the achievement of theCouncil’s objectives through the Waste and Street Scene service planand supporting action plan.Produce general correspondence,letters, memos, reports, minutes, statistical and graphicalinformation and legal documentation etc using IT and audio equipmentand a range of software packages.Calculation, collationand submission of statistics in relation to waste data flow.Calculation, collation and statistical analysis to enablesubmission of payments and receipts in relation to the Authoritieswaste and recycling tonnages.Co-ordinate and manage theCouncil’s Commercial and Schedule Two clients, produce generalcorrespondence including letters, memos, purchase orders and invoicesin relation to the customers and maintain all appropriate records.Assist with the re-uniting and re-homing of stray dogsCreating/designing of leaflets, posters, booklets etcTo receive and respond to enquiries from customers, Councillors,other Council Services and external organisations. Making decisions,judgements in line with RDC policy and procedures.Input toand maintain databases and systems and make recommendations andimprovements as and when required.To operate and maintainand advise on improvements for the IT systems associated with theSection including Webaspex, garden waste subscriptions and Camexsystems. Act as deputy webmaster for the section and provide IT adviceand guidance to other members of the team.Undertakegeneral administrative duties e.g. filing of documents andcorrespondence, photocopying, preparation of information and invoices,taking payments.Receiving, carrying and storage ofdeliveries e.g stationery, PPE, boxes and bags.Makingappointments and arranging meetings.Achieve agreedpolicies, targets, quality standards and service improvements set bythe Waste and Street Scene Manager.You may be requiredfrom time to time to undertake comparable duties in the team and otherUnits as determined by the Waste and Street Scene Manager.To demonstrate an acceptance of and commitment to the Council’sEqualities and Diversity Policy.A full clean drivinglicence and the use of a suitable vehicle.
