We are currently looking for a reliable and experienced Yard Warehouse Manager to join our clients team in Brockley.The Yard Manager will be responsible for overseeing all specs of their yard operations, including managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.The ideal candidate will have experience working with building materials, strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional results.Key responsibilities:
* Report and correct any breaches of Health & Safety
* Supervising day-to-day operations
* Maintain department procedures and stock locations. Liaise with the Branch Manager
* Day-to-day management of the warehouse, staff and drivers maintaining the standard of Health & Safety
* Other ad-hoc duties where and when required
* Overseeing Goods-In/Out, ensuring that orders are correct and on time
* Be a key holder
* Ensuring security of the Branch
* Ensuring yard and warehouse is open on time for tradingDetailed ResponsibilitiesGoods In
* Oversee that each delivery is checked, and paperwork is brought into the office, instruct where goods need to be placed if required
* All vehicles are unloaded in an allocated unloading area
* Plan and co-ordinate incoming goods
* Ensure supplier vehicles and our vehicles are escorted in and out of the yard correctly and unloaded in designated areaGoods Out
* Ensure the correct loading documents are used by staff
* Plan and co-ordinate the loading of all vehicles in a safe manner and in good time
* Check vehicle loads are correctly and safely before deliveries leave the depot
* Report any differences and amend paperwork to match
* Prepare shipping documentation and any other relevant paperworkOrder PreparationCo-ordinate with staff to prioritize the picking of ordersWhere possible, orders to be completed (OTIF) on time, in fullEnsure all differences are recorded on the Picking paperworkCustomersCustomers to be served and loaded correctly, politely and to receive excellent serviceReport any shortfalls on Customer CollectionsStock Management
* Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Annually stock takes to be carried out as per agreed schedule
* Investigate any shortfalls and report to Manager
* Monitor stock levels reporting any low levels to relevant personnel
* Breakages sheet completed by staff and reported to relevant personnel
* Ensure all products are stored correctly
* Rotate stock where applicableStaff
* Day-to-day management of staff, enforcing policies and enforcing procedures including tasks and planning
* Training and development of staffForklifts & Lorries
* Ensuring daily checks are completed and any issues reportedHealth & Safety
* Maintain a safe and tidy environment
* Record any 'incidents' or 'near misses' onto our Health & Safety website
* Report any Health & Safety breachesSecurityWarehouse and yard to be locked securely at the end of the trading dayWhere applicable customers must not serve themselvesEnsure yard and warehouse storage areas are always secureOther RecommendationsIdentify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing working procedures, report to Manager for authorizationPrinciple Job Requirements:Ensure a safe and efficient working environment for staff customers and visitorsMaintain company/branch procedures and plans set by Branch Manager and Head OfficeManage the Warehouse and Transport staff, setting an example with regards to attitude, appearance and overall requirementsBenefits include 28 days holiday, a company pension, Death in service after 6 months and Christmas bonus's
