SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products. We are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Shift Manager to manage the warehouse activities, ensuring efficient physical management of stock at the hub and in the region. You will have oversight of loading of customer and company vehicles and offloading of supplier vehicles and overseeing all matters related to the warehouse personnel and operation.What does the role involve?As Warehouse Shift Manager, you will ensure that an outstanding service is provided to our customers, in co-ordination with the Transport Manager, with the highest level of customer care, efficiency, safety and legal compliance. You will pro-actively manage the day-to-day running of the warehouse operation during your shift, within agreed costs, service levels and KPIs, whilst working with the other Managers to always looking to improve working methods to ensure that warehouse processes achieve best practice standards, H&S responsibility for site, Toolbox talks, regularly review site SSOW & Risk Assessments, upload to company SharePoint, daily & weekly warehouse walks, investigate any stock issues RCA, Spot checking Goods in team for putting away in correct location and all goods in process are being followed Cycle counting of stock and all goods to be 100% checked before they get loaded, shift briefs MHE compliance. Defect reporting and breakdown reportingThe successful candidate will require:• Proven people manager, with the ability to lead and develop a team• Ability to adhere to our Zero Harm policy and ensure that members of your wider team act in accordance with these principles• Strong operational focus delivering KPIs on warehouse efficiencies • To be well organised and possess the ability to drive and implement change• A good understanding of the manual handling requirements and legalities and be able to use IT packages (including Word and Excel) and branch IT systems In return we offer:• Highly Competitive salary with annual pay award and excellent bonus scheme• 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.
