Position: Warehouse Manager



Location: Radstock



Salary: £30k-£40k DOE



Working Hours: Company is open 6am-6pm. Shift Pattern is 6am-4pm/8am-6pm (there is some flexibility on your pattern)

Overview



The role of Warehouse Manager serves a vital function in the business, taking responsibility for all physical movements of stock and coordinating all staff who participate in this movement.



Health & Safety is a high priority and you will be expected to oversee Health & Safety at site, championing a safety first culture and ensuring company safe systems of work are adhered to. As a hands on role, you will be expected to lead from the front and undertake all tasks alongside your team, ensuring that you set the standard for the rest of your team to follow. A strong personality and adept communicator you will need to manage the team to ensure customer orders are picked and processed efficiently & accurately each day.



Roles & Responsibilities



• Follow & implement all safe working practices and Health & Safey guidelines, be the champion of our H&S policies.



• Manage goods inwards process, ensuring goods are offloaded, checked and located into stock in an accurate & timely manner.



• Ensure customer orders are picked & packed by allocating workload across the warehouse team.



• Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard and lead direct reports to follow in the expected high standards.



• Manage daily stock cutting & processing in conjunction with commercial team.



• Alongside transport team, ensure company vehicles are load safely and accurately with customer orders.



• Work to tight deadlines, safely & accurately.



• Identify & manage all training needs.



• Be a good communicator to all – including Management, Warehouse Team, Office Staff, Drivers, Delivery Drivers, Customers & visitors to site.



• Manage stock levels in conjunction with Group Central Purchasing Department & Depot Manager.



• Work closely with the site management team to make operation improvements & identify possible cost saving initiatives. Whilst this is not an exhaustive list, it provides guidance of the key responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager.



Expectations



• You will be required to use overhead cranes, forklifts & combilifts (formal training will be provided, but supervised use will be expected from day 1).



• A ‘stay until the job is done’ attitude, with overtime requirement at often short notice.



• You will have a strong work ethic and not shy away from tasks that can be of a physical nature.



• A desire to take responsibility for the operational element of the business and identify areas for improvement
