DAZN’s Broadcast Partnerships division works with leading rights holders including FIBA, WTA and other premium rights holders. We represent them in the commercialisation of their media rights, also providing consultancy & guidance across numerous areas including digital strategy, production & technical distribution, and competition/event scheduling.As leader within DAZN’s Broadcast Partnerships division, you will define & implement sales strategies. You will be responsible for coordinating technical delivery & distribution, managing relationships with rightsholder partners and providing internal & external reporting on performance. Your extensive knowledge of the global media landscape, deep sports rights broadcasters contacts and proven track record in negotiating & selling sports media rights will enable the business to deliver the best possible financial results and rely on your expertise to help drive overall DAZN strategies. Your network of sports broadcasters, media companies and rights holders will also enable you to play an integral role in acquiring new rights for the Broadcast Partnerships team.This role will be based in Hammersmith, London. Create and implement global business plans (in consultation with relevant business partners) for existing sports properties (eg FIBA, Women’s Football, WTA) that exceed their defined objectives.Deliver world-wide market-by-market approaches to revenue, audience, and brand growth in line with the defined strategy of rights owning partners.Provide detailed and timely forecasting, accurate sales activity, and up to date activity/prospect status both internally and to rights owning partners. Represent the business and rights owner partners at key trade shows and conferences.Inspire, organise and efficiently deploy the resources of a sales team of 4 people (located in London and Singapore).Take responsibility for and overseeing key relationships with broadcasters, rights holders, and joint venture partners. Manage broadcast partner relations and acting as a liaison between rights owners and broadcasters including timely contract & payment management and delivery of information. Be on the pulse of trends and developments in the sports broadcasting environment globally, identifying and presenting new business opportunities for current rights owning partners.Through comprehensive market analysis and an extensive knowledge of the sports media marketplace, build compelling business cases for new properties for the DAZN Broadcast Partnerships portfolio.Utilise research and leverage relationships to gather crucial empirical and anecdotal intelligence on sports properties, television, and digital outlets. Driving strategic insights from findings to develop revenue opportunities and assist in providing context and strategy validation for existing rights holding partners.
You'll have:
Proactive and creative problem solving approach to maximise revenue (and other objectives)Highly independent way of working; performance-driven, and comfortable with working in a dynamic global environment to tight deadlines.Proven sales track record in sports media rights sales.Excellent inter-personal skills, advanced communication and presenting capabilities.Strong professional network within the global sports media rights sales industry and a worldwide network of contacts & relationships with key personnel at media broadcasters & sports rights holders.Expert knowledge of the sports and media rights landscape globally including a solid understanding of the inner workings and business models of the different types of sports broadcasters.Commercial experience of the sports direct-to-consumer media environment.Deep understanding of sports digital media consumption trends. Ability to be proactive and self-sufficient in cultivating relationships with prospective rights buyers and rights holders.Willingness to work flexible working hours, taking into consideration the global nature of the role, and to travel often at short notice.Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Not essential, but great if you also have:
Sales experience working at holders of multiple sports rights (EG agency)Understanding of B2B (e.g. commercial premises) and pay-per-viewUnderstanding of sports production and OTT broadcastFinancial modelling expertiseFluency in PowerPoint and/or other presentation programmesAdditional language skills
