Now, we’re rolling out a suite of new privacy solutions, including Email Protection, App Tracking Protection and our first-ever Desktop Apps for Mac and Windows.The OpportunityWe’re looking for a VP, Engineering to help evolve our engineering organization and join our mission to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be simple. In this executive role, you will evolve engineering process across DuckDuckGo to help us deliver a high-quality product more efficiently, help grow our engineering team, and career advise its leaders.We are looking to potentially double the size of our 100-person engineering organization over the next few years and need an engineering leader who has the curiosity to help guide the expansion of each functional area through this period. You will hire, advise, and coach engineers at all levels to support their growth velocity and increase their impact on the organization. In addition, you’ll work to understand and improve our engineering team structure, processes, and culture at the lowest and highest levels, to meet the needs of our rapidly-growing company.What You Will Bring to DuckDuckGo 15+ years of experience in engineering. 10+ years leading and scaling software engineering organizations. 5+ years working on a successful consumer product with 1M+ users. Deep experience in evolving engineering and company processes to make them more efficient and effective beyond the size of 100 engineering team members. Track record of developing and scaling high-performance engineering teams of 100-plus members through hiring and mentorship of engineering leaders. Experience as part of a data-driven executive team to help deliver results against specific objectives. Full-stack engineering experience - ability to translate strategic direction and technological vision into tightly scoped projects and effective advisory on specific technical decisions within them. Strong communication and project management skills, including the ability to translate effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
