What are we looking for?
The selected candidate for this role in the charity will have the following experience and skills An ability to relate comfortably with existing and new recruited volunteers and members of the Trust’s Executive Committee Some knowledge of possible sources of new volunteers for key roles within the Trust, including those possibly available within the current membership Experience in the handling of applications from volunteers for key roles within the Trust Proven 5 years experience in an HR role Proficiency in written English and basic arithmetic, together with appropriate IT skills
What will you be doing?
We are looking for someone to recruit volunteers to help the Trust meet its declared objectives in canal restoration and community engagement. The major tasks and activities will be Working with the CEO to understand and record the staffing needs of the Trust, at every level, for the successful execution of both major and minor projects and for continuing operations Production of a recruitment plan for the approval of the Directors Researching, understanding and recording the available sources of new people who can contribute to the canal restoration and community engagement activities of the Trust Maintaining a comprehensive record of the skills and work preferences of the Trust’s existing membership, to facilitate recruitment from those already committed to its work Managing an ongoing recruiting programme to meet the Trust’s needs for more volunteers with relevant skills and high motivation Working with the CEO to devise, implement and maintain a Trust-wide induction programme for new volunteers Working with the CEO to devise and implement a programme of volunteer satisfaction reviews to assist in their long-term retention Attending the monthly meetings of the Trust’s Executive Committee to present a regular Human Resources Report and engage in discussions with peers about current and future volunteering requirements.
