The service you will work in...


We are looking to recruit into our award winning and supportive Volunteering Team. Our volunteers are able to provide added value and opportunities for service users to engage in a range of volunteer led activities which focus on wellbeing, learning and development and recovery via blended hybrid model of face to face and online activity.


Our coordinators provide additional capacity to coproduce activities and volunteer roles with service users. You will work with survivors to co-produce and establish a new ‘Economic Empowerment and Security' programme. 


A day in this role looks like….


As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in our Domestic Abuse Services. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.


A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:



  • Support the recruitment of volunteers in accordance with Hestia's volunteer recruitment processes.

  • Ensure that all volunteers are supported throughout their time with Hestia.

  • To support our survivors to gain access to financial tools, develop economic management skills and confidence to establish a new independent life beyond Hestia.

  • Support with developing aspirations and skills to re-/enter education, training and employment through 1-1 sessions and group sessions.

  • Support our Service Users with the use of the digital skills to navigate the digital work where needed.

  • Inspire, motivate and work alongside Hestia's operational services to think creatively how volunteers can engage with women across their services.

  • Provide advice and guidance to staff working alongside volunteers to ensure best practice and effective support is provided to volunteers across Hestia. 

  • Working closely with our Corporate Partners to establish relationships in order to find opportunities to engage skilled volunteers.

  • To represent and promote Hestia and our volunteering opportunities within the wider community and sector. 

  • Maintain accurate administrative records in line with Hestia's reporting and monitoring of the Hestia Volunteering Programme.

  • Strong aptitude of using relevant spreadsheets, databases, data input and software.

  • The ability to develop employment/training plans.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving ability.

  • Respect for diversity and an understanding of different cultures.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate.
