About this Role We are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that we serve. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. Previous experience of working in a SEMH environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.

The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.
The successful candidate may have industry experience and experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with pupils with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties.
Industry experience in any of the following sectors are desirable:
Construction
Carpentry
Brickwork
Painting & Decorating
Electrical
Plumbing
Hamilton School is an SEMH (Social , Emotional, and Mental Health) Special School in Reading educating up to 64 students with Education, Health Care Plans (EHCP). Our mission is to recognise each and every one of our students as individuals, and to nurture their potential, developing the whole child through a therapeutic approach. This means that you would have to be a resilient character who is able to remain positive when dealing with challenging behaviour. The school is proud to have recently opened its doors to a state-of-the-art building with wonderful new facilities for both pupils and staff.
