RSR Public Safety are currently recruiting for a Victim Liaison Officers for a Government Department paying £18 per hour.Job Summary:The victim liaison officer will have the responsibility of being a dedicated single point of contact (SPOC) for victims and witnesses to provide a professional, consistent and seamless end to end support service, from the first point of contact through to the conclusion of the investigation and subsequent prosecution and sentencing.To have governance over own caseloads and effectively communicate with, influence, monitor and manage victims and witnesses for Court Martial and Summary Hearing. Facilitate liaison and be a dedicated contact between victims and witnesses, police, the Service Prosecution Authority (SPA) and support agencies, to promote and support effective trials.Provide enhanced support for vulnerable victims of crime in accordance with the Victims code of practice (VCOP), providing continued telephone support, and be responsible for determining, signposting and referring to the relevant support agency as required.Location: Portsmouth, office basedContract: Until March 2025, likely ongoing 12-month extensions after.Salary: £18 per hour PAYE, plus 33 days annual leaveVetting: Must either have or go through Security Clearance.Main duties and responsibilitiesCase ManagementVulnerability SupportLiaison with Victims and witnessesLiaison with internal/external partnersPartnership WorkingMaintaining knowledge/TrainingVictims Code complianceUnderstanding and use of IT SystemsDisclosurePerson SpecificationExperience:Previous administrative experience working in a customer services environmentPrevious experience of the judicial system/police environmentExperience of dealing directly with the publicExperience of working with vulnerabilitySkills:Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and ExcelExcellent communication skills – both verbal and written; contacts with both internal and external agencies e.g. – Internal staff at all levels of the organisation, victims, witnesses, service prosecution, probation and court staffExcellent interpersonal skills – approachable, tactful, empathetic, diplomatic and a sympathetic and listening telephone mannerAbility to deal with conflict and
vulnerable/distressed
