The Role
We are looking for a full-time or part-timeVeterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated and supportive team. The role involves both consulting with clients and their pets and operating in our surgical theatre. Vets are encouraged to work up their cases to a high level.
Finish times can vary between 5pm-7pm for full-time hours and one Vet and one RVN are on hospital in patient care overnight. Our full-time Vets work a four-day week which allows time to balance the interests of clinical work with study, outdoor pursuits, or relaxation. We currently open on Saturdays 0830-1300 on a 1 in 5 rota.
Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, that’s why we know that work-life balance is vital in supporting our people to be their best selves. Our flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours offers a balance that truly flexes with you and your lifestyle no matter what stage you are in your career.
The salary range is up to £68,000 (FTE) depending on experience with a relocation allowance available. Accommodation is also available if required.
About Us
Sprinz and Nash Veterinary Hospital is located in the historic market town of Thame, in the South East of England and is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Chiltern Hills. We are within easy travelling distance to London and Oxford. The area has excellent schooling and great for outdoor pursuits.
The hospital provides excellent facilities, including dental x-ray, in-house laboratory, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital x-ray, separate dog and cat and isolation wards to name a few. We are staffed by a friendly, forward thinking, and supportive team of Vets, Nurses, and support staff.
There is a varied, challenging and rewarding caseload for an experienced Vet and support from our excellent Vet team for someone less so.
About the Team and Culture
Our team consists of 8 Vets (6 FTE), 8 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 3 VCAs as well as a fabulous reception team.
Our Vets are all team players and delight in helping each other with cases. We have Vet and Nurse certificate holders (including medical and dental certificate holders), and we would support someone who wishes to gain additional qualifications. We are involved in supporting and sponsoring local charity events and are currently planning our fund-raising activity for this year.
Applicant Requirements
We would prefer a vet who is confident both consulting and operating and very much a team player. Due to our hospital status and varied case load, we would support someone with specialist interests. In addition to your excellent clinical and communication skills, you will need to be a people-oriented person, who is willing to support and guide your colleagues.
