The opportunity
MedivetStanhope Road, Darlington has an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join this talented team.
Stanhope Road is an RCVS accredited hospital and are proud to be an ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic. It has exceptionally high standards that are consistently exercised throughout our 3 practice teams in Darlington.
Stanhope Park is our largest and newest refurbished practice which can accommodate all types of major surgery. We are lucky to have our separate Cats and Exotics Clinic just round the corner on Duke Street allowing us to treat cats and exotic species in a dedicated stress-free environment. Finally, our Middleton-St-George clinic has been providing clients with consultations and preventative treatments for many years with a loyal client base. It has recently undertaken major renovation work at this surgery, allowing us to extend our services to include outpatient surgical procedures.
Stanhope Road is situated in the centre of Darlington, adjacent to a beautiful park perfect for a relaxing lunch break.
Full time working pattern on 4 weekdays per week and 1 in 6 full weekends.
Tier 2 visa sponsorship for candidates outside of the UK
Relocation package if relocating from outside the UK or more than 50 miles from your current UK address.
CPD allowance £1500 & 3 days paid CPD leave per year
RCVS, VDS & BVA fees paid.

Role accountabilities
Provide first class clinical care through consultations, procedures, and monitoring.
Complete and competent clinical handover
Provide exceptional client care giving clear updates on patients, resolving issues as they arise.
Maximise capacity through the most effective utilisation of clinical skills.
Perform a wide range of consults, surgical procedures, dental and x-rays.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies & procedures.
Maintain patients’ medical records and prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring payment and minimising debt.
Skills and experience
Qualified MRCVS
1 years’ experience in a small animal practice
Competent in clinical examination and surgery
Competent and confident working sole charge, with the ability to make sound clinical judgement and as part of the wider team
