Job Introduction

Vehicle Technician

We are recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our Fleet & Plant department in Rugby. The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5:30pm and Friday 7:30am to 5:15pm

Working from our head office workshops where we provide a professional environment for our staff whilst delivering a seamless service to our customers. Carrying out service and repairs to our own fleet of company cars and vans.

This is an opportunity to take charge oif the workshop ensuring work is completed in a timely manner to the level required, ordering parts and ensuring stock levels are maintained as well as diagnostics and checking vehicles in and out.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the servicing, repair and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard first time.
  • The main responsibilities would include electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshaft's, exhausts and air conditioning servicing, as well as tyres
  • Additional responsibilities may include repairs and maintenance on EV and Hybrid vehicles such as the use of electronic diagnostic equipment, focusing on areas such as batteries, drive motor, auxiliary drive pack & control systems when required.
  • You will have the ability to fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  • You will have a full understanding of Customer Satisfaction and its impact on the business.
  • You will be trained and able to operate additional systems where required
  • You will also be responsible for completing all service paperwork to manufacturer and brand standards, and ensure maintenance systems and files are kept updated
  • Working closely with other members of the workshop team to constantly learn and share knowledge.

About you

  • We consider candidates from all backgrounds who have experience working in the Automotive sector as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, Auto Electrician, MOT Tester or Apprentice Vehicle Technician.
  • Whether you work at an independent garage, fast fit centre, car supermarket or main dealer, we would be interested in talking to you.
  • As a minimum you will hold or working towards completion of your NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • An Electric and Hybrid vehicle qualification or certification would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • MOT License would also be beneficial but not essential.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
