VAT Senior/Consultant

Main DutiesThe main duties (but not limited to) are the following: -• Provision of VAT advice to clients, colleagues and partners across our 17 offices, thiscould be via telephone calls, at client meetings, or by email, letter or a report• Assisting clients with HMRC VAT enquiries• Dealing with queries from other professionals as part of our VAT consultancy service• Preparation of marketing material and involvement in business development, this mayinclude attendance at networking meetings and events• Assisting the VAT Partner with the running of the team, including monitoring work inprogress, debtors and billing.This job description summarises the main duties and responsibilities of the post, but the postholder may be required to undertake other duties and projects of similar level and responsibility
Attributes, Skills, Experience and QualificationsIdeally the successful candidate will have the following attributes, skills, experience andqualifications.• Previous experience working in a VAT advisory role and will come from either practice oran in-house position• Outgoing, socially confident and emotionally controlled• A positive attitude, friendly and approachable• Resilient, able to multi-task and work independently / flexibly• Adaptable, organised and conscientious• Takes the initiative, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines• Discreet, professional and team orientated in approach• Accountancy or Tax Qualified (AAT, ACA, ACCA, ATT CTA) is desirable but not essential• Good working knowledge of general IT Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Mediaprogrammes• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven accuracy and an eye fordetail
