Valuations - Associate Director (#####) About the Team You will be joining a high-profile valuations team that sits within Mazars' wider Forensics & Valuations department. The Valuations team carries out a full range of valuation services to a wide range of clients. In particular, you will be involved in accounting valuations, more specifically purchase price allocations, share based payments and impairment reviews. Job Purpose To carry out and take responsibility for valuation assignments and, in doing so, to ensure that the client's expectations are exceeded through the provision of a quality product within an agreed budget and timescale. To be involved in all aspects of the valuations practice, including business development activities. You will be a part of a dynamic team with ambitious objectives and your role will be to provide additional expertise to widen our service offering. You will be able to lead on multiple engagements simultaneously, you will have a passion for the development of team members and you will be a go to person for the team for technical knowledge and practical solutions to valuation issues that arise during project work. You will be a creative thinker willing to challenge the status quo. You will probably either be a Manager in a valuations team looking to move up a level or an existing Associate Director that is looking for a positive change of direction in your career. Role & Responsibilities
Valuations for accounting, tax, restructuring, commercial and dispute purposes. Valuations of companies or stakes in companies as part of transactional assignments Valuation of companies in the context of the raising of new capital Valuation of companies in the context of employee share schemes
Your role in the Valuations team will include:
Managing a portfolio of projects from cradle to grave, ensuring that regular communication with senior members of the team is maintained. Supervising the preparation of valuation reports and models, including supporting appendices and exhibits. Supervising the junior staff in the assignment team. Ensuring that the team adheres to Mazars' quality control procedures.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Qualified accountant preferred but not required - ACA/CA/ACCA/CFA or equivalent. Experience of delivering valuations for a variety of purposes and across multiple industries would be desirable. In particular, experience of writing reports and completing analyses for contentious and non-contentious valuations. Strong research skills. Able to convey opinions clearly – both verbally and in writing. Able to explain technical issues to non-accountants. Able to work on own initiative. Ability to develop strong client relationships. Will proactively contribute to the development of new initiatives and methodologies. Will have experience of developing and training junior members of a team, including conducting appraisals and performance reviews. Will contribute to an environment that supports and encourages innovation and flexibility. Will manage client and partner expectations through effective communication. Will be able to manage a team as well as manage projects independently. Will promote the firm's values and beliefs, demonstrating integrity and maintaining an ethical stance, using flexibility and tact to express views as necessary. Will have experience in the use of the Capital IQ and Bloomberg databases. Will have strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
