My client has an exciting opportunity to join their Centre as a Used Car Buyer.The Used Car Buyer will be an operational member of the Dealership Team and report to the Sales and Franchise Manager. The role is primarily to purchase vehicles from multiple sources to assist the dealerships achieve their sales and financial targets.Assisting the Sales Manager in ensuring that optimum used stock levels are maintained to maximise used car sales opportunities.Ensure that used cars are purchased at the correct market value reflecting their age and required preparation costs to comply with company policy. Ensure the procurement and supply of quality used vehicles in order that sales departments can achieve financial and volume targetsDevelop approved relationships with manufacturers, auction houses and other trade contacts in pursuit of stock acquisitionMake purchases in line with the defined stock profile and individual requirements of each businessProvide advice and support to Sales Management in respect of retail and trade valuationsProvide detailed analysis/reports on purchase activityMonitor 60+ day stock and advise on price re-alignment and assist in disposal / inter-company transfersMonitor vehicle sales mix and volumes to ensure correct replenishment of stockConduct due diligence in respects of vehicle condition, service history, number of previous owners, outstanding finance, warranted mileage and previous accident damageEnsure compliance with the requirements of the Snows Approved Used Vehicle ProgrammeAlways operate within company policyMonitor and provide feedback on the trends and market conditions at auctionHave you got what it takes?Knowledge and experience of the retail motor industry, with the ability to accurately appraise vehicles.A customer centric approach, always striving to deliver service above customer expectations.A ‘can do’ attitude with a ‘winning’ mentality and the drive and determination to be the best.Exceptional customer facing and interpersonal skills.An excellent negotiator, confident with the ability to effectively communicate persuasively with others, passing on information accurately and promptly.Strong negotiation skills, confident with the ability to effectively communicate persuasively with others, passing on information accurately and promptly.Sound knowledge of the FCA and Code of Conduct guidelinesStrong written and verbal English skillsKnowledge and experience of using systems designed to assist with car appraisalsPC, Microsoft, web literate.What is in it for you?Highly competitive salary and bonus scheme.Full training and support to help you immerse yourself in the role.30 days holiday, inc.
