Job summaryUrgent and Emergency Care Head of Nursing based at William Harvey hospital Ashford.As part of the Care Group senior leadership team to support the Care Group Clinical Director to provide leadership and strategic direction of the Care Group, ensuring the delivery of high quality safe, effective, harm free person-centred care consistent with the Trust values, the Trust's Quality Strategy and Care Strategy using available resources effectively and efficiently, and supporting achievement of the Trust's vision and strategic objectives.The Care Group Head(s) of Nursing for Emergency Care are responsible for professional and operational leadership of Nursing and AHP services within the Care Group, including devising, implementing and reviewing strategies for the development of clinical practice, education, and management and quality issues.The Care Group Head(s) of Nursing for Emergency Care act as the delegated leads for safety, quality and patient experience, responsible for development and application of systems, control processes and risk management arrangements that ensure full compliance with internal and external governance procedures and to benchmark against best practice requirements.Main duties of the jobThe Care Group Head(s) of Nursing for Emergency Care take an active lead in Trust, local and national projects to both promote and develop nursing and non-medical practice at the Trust.To provide the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer with the expertise and advice on the care provision for Emergency Care Services.The post holder(s) are required to maintain clinical credibility by spending a minimum of 20% time in clinical practice across the range of services within Emergency Care.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people.Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Qualifications

EssentialFirst level registration RGN, RSCN with NMC registration; Post Graduate Management qualification or relevant experience; Masters or higher degree, or demonstration of equivalent substantial continuing professional development.
