Are you a skilled upholsterer looking for a new opportunity? We are seeking a talented individual to join our clients team. As an upholsterer, you'll have the chance to work on a variety of furniture projects and showcase your craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
Complete all aspects of upholstery for existing and future product ranges.
Review bills of materials for all products and highlight issues to your supervisor or Engineering.
Measure and cut materials using manual or automated cutting instruments.
Operate sewing machines (Single and twin) to sew upholstery and join various sections of covering fabric.
Apply expert knowledge of upholstery to build (or repair) upholstered furniture using a variety of hand or power tools.
Work with tools and materials such as glue, staples, tacks and nail guns.
Assemble and quality check a wide array of products.
Support new product development teams to define new ranges when applicable.
Confer with internal customers prior to upholstery to ensure finished product meets the end clients’ expectations.
Train new starters, including inexperienced colleagues when required.
Maintain a first-time quality rate exceeding 99%.
Familiarise yourself with the current MRP systems and use these systems to book off completed works orders / operations daily.
Ensure projects are completed and delivered before set deadline.
Conduct routine maintenance of work tools and upholstery machine.
Remain flexible within working hours to meet the needs of the business.
Remain flexible to work in other areas of the business outside of the chair department, on an ad hoc or permanent basis.
Any other duties required of the role.
