Upholsterer

Our client based in�Reading�is now looking for a skilled�Upholsterer�to join the team.

2 years exp in making office furniture needed.

Salary: From��26-�32K pa depending on experience�based on experience

Working hours:�Monday to Thursday 07:30-16:30, Friday 07:30-16:00 (44 hours per week)

Products:�Office Furniture

Duties:

• Cut and apply foam and upholstery fabric


• Experience working with a variety of upholstery materials


• Sewing and cutting skills


• Strip down and re-upholster furniture, using supplied and own-made templates


• Apply buttoning and cushioning


• Use hand and air compressor tools


• Fix webbing and springs into seats


• Cover frames with padding and fabric using sewing machines, stitches, staples, tacks and glue


• Use decorative techniques such as fringing, piping and buttoning


• Renovate and re-upholstering old furniture


• Cut wood to replace damaged seat boards etc

Ideal Upholsterer Candidate:

• to be thorough and pay attention to detail

• the ability to work well with your hands

• the ability to use your initiative

• to be flexible and open to change

• potential work on Saturdays (if needed)

• knowledge of manufacturing production and processes

• design skills and knowledge

• the ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools

• the ability to work well with others

• confident to complete work onsite at offsite premises

• strong work ethic, resilient, self-starter and a can do attitude
