Job DescriptionPlace Unit ManagerMAYBURY PS - NEW SCHOOL Salary: £26,788 - £30,751 per year (pro-rata for part time and sessional)Hours: 35 per week, 39 weeks sessional An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Unit Manager to lead our new Primary School kitchen opening in August - this post is for an individual used to high volume production. We are looking for an individual with a passion for food and with great leadership qualities, managing a team up to 8 GA's and Cooks. Leading your own kitchen you will have the autonomy to drive food quality, liaison with schools and pupils. Edinburgh Catering Services provides lunches for 24,000 pupils daily - come join an award winning team. Prior to the new school opening you will be required to work in local schools to gain an understanding of our business so flexibility is key. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
