Are you an experienced Underwriting Manager looking for a new challenge? Our client, a dynamic and innovative company that’s revolutionising the used car finance industry, is on the hunt for an Underwriting Manager to lead their team.
This role comes with a competitive salary which will depend on experience. You’ll be working in a remote role however you will be required to visit their London office once a month (expenses will be paid) You’ll be part of a company that values work-life balance, offering 25 days holiday, increasing to 28 after three years of service, plus bank holidays.
As the Underwriting Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing the underwriting department, ensuring timely and accurate assessment of credit applications
Setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback, and conducting performance evaluations
Ensuring underwriting processes align with the company’s wider credit strategy and risk appetite
Establishing and maintaining underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and improve underwriter efficiency
Package and Benefits:As the Underwriting Manager, you can expect:
A competitive annual salary – £60,000 – £65,000 (negotiable D.O.E)

The ideal Underwriting Manager candidate will have:
Proven experience in underwriting and credit risk management within the motor finance sector for a Lender
Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks, including the Consumer Credit Act, FCA guidelines, and AML regulations
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams
Excellent decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate complex financial information and assess credit risk
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
