UK Lead for Asset Management , Global Realty Asset ManagementJob ID: 2629662 | Amazon UK Services Ltd.The UK Lead for Asset Management sits within the Global Realty Asset Management team and forms part of Global Realty. The pivotal role is based in London, UK and entails overseeing the real estate portfolio across the UK and Ireland, with a primary focus on logistics assets and parking sites. Reporting directly to the EMEA Head of Asset Management, the position involves regular travel within the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.Key Responsibilities:• Serve as principal lead for the asset management of Amazon’s portfolio of logistics assets and parking sites throughout UK and Ireland.• Lead and provide direction to the Asset Managers in the region, and provide direction for any indirect reports that are providing real estate and asset management support.• Develop and implement real estate strategies for the region, encompassing lease negotiations, portfolio optimization, and risk management.• Provide strategic real estate advice to senior leadership for new concepts and initiatives, aligning real estate strategies with organisational goals.• Act as the primary point of contact for UK and Ireland for lease related escalations and provide support to internal customers and stakeholders as needed.• Support compliance escalations and address issues related to operational permits, liaising with landlords as required to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth operations.• Establish, maintain and strengthen effective relationships with landlords, developers, and other external stakeholders, facilitating regular engagement meetings and on-site visits.• Ensure accurate reporting and management of critical lease event dates, overseeing lease renewals, sub-leases, amendments, and variations.• Manage end-of-term lease obligations, building surveying, and dilapidations liabilities, ensuring visibility and proper financial accounting.• Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency enhancements, implementing best practices in asset management across the region.• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team and region, driving initiatives for process optimization and performance excellence.• Support the career development of the asset management team members in region, across EMEA and the wider Global Realty team, developing their knowledge and skill set.• Provide MBR, QBR and budget inputs for the region and support in financial reporting of real estate liabilities and liaison with internal finance stakeholders and GR Asset Management targets• Undertake international travel as required for meetings, site visits, and training programs, fostering cross-regional collaboration and knowledge exchange.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:London, GBR | Virtual Location - GBRBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Real Estate, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CFA) preferred.Proven experience in asset management, preferably within the real estate sector, with a track record of successfully managing portfolios across multiple geographies.Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• MBA from reputable University• Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)• Demonstrable problem-solving, mathematic and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment• Ability to drive successful partnerships with cross-functional leadership to execute strategic initiatives and develop strategic roadmaps.• Demonstrated strong leadership skills when confronted with difficult situations exhibiting ability to keep the team focused and motivated.• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.• Strong negotiation skills.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
