We combine travel specific experience with proprietary data and extensive distribution options to help our travel-sector clients deliver on their business and marketing objectives.Job purposeAs a Front End Web Developer, you will combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include buildingrich media advertisements deliverables from the provided UI/UX design. You will work under the guidance ofthe Production Director and alongside a team of designers and developers. You will take an active roledefining how the execution looks as well as how it works.Duties and responsibilitiesBuild rich media advertising, HTML newsletters and small website campaignsEnsure all tracking and reporting metrics are included correctlyDevelop new user-facing featuresBuild reusable code and libraries for future useEnsure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designsOptimise application for maximum speed and scalabilityCollaborate with other team members and stakeholdersStay up-to-date on emerging technologiesAlways stay consistent with clients brand guidelinesGet feedback from users and customersMake suggestions for better solutions to problemsComfort working with design teams and translating mockups into codeInvested in performance testing and website optimizationsWe expect punctuality, respect deadlines and milestones and for you to workduring established office hoursQualifications1-2 years’ experience (ideally in advertising or media)Proficient understanding of programmatic advertising would be beneficial.Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platformsSolid experience writing HTML, CSS (LESS and /or SASS) and responsive design principlesGood understanding of AWS is a bonus.Good knowledge of React, Javascript, ¡Query, PHP, SQLWordPress programming skills given the platform standards and best practices Understanding in Google Studio, Google Campaign Manager and Google Ads would be beneficial but not essentialGood understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAXBasic knowledge of CMS system (open source) is a plus but not mandatoryBasic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on image / videoFamiliarity with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Web Designer and Figma are a major plusProficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around themProficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GITHUBGood understanding of SEO principles is beneficialIt will be a benefit to enjoy the challenge of producing great, lean codeGood communication skills: comfortable interacting with and working closelywith your teamWilling to adapt and learn new skillsWho Are We?TravelDesk is part of the MMGY Group, a travel-obsessed collective of more than 600 people across the country and around the globe.
