With a culture rooted in support, empowerment, and development, we have a glowing track record for growing careers.About the roleAs an Operations Officer, you’ll be responsible for receiving, analysing, disseminating, and processing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) intelligence. You’ll assess SARs linked to priority threat areas at pace, ensuring that they comply with all relevant legislation. Using your communication skills, you’ll deal with enquires from colleagues across all levels of the NCA, co-ordinating not only with other areas of law enforcement, but also with external bodies and individuals. You’ll make quick operational decisions within the strict time limits laid out in law, fostering collaborative working relationships in the process and helping to instil a culture of learning and development across the NCA.About youThere is no such thing as a typical UKFIU Officer – we are actively looking to recruit people from all walks of life. A background in law enforcement isn’t necessary, but you’ll need to demonstrate an ability to deliver at pace and be an effective decision maker. You’ll have some previous experience of operational decision making, and of prioritising and managing conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be able to work with sensitivity and be able to account for risks to the integrity of sensitive data. An understanding of the use of financial intelligence by law enforcement/ government, alongside some knowledge of the illicit financial landscape, are also key skills you’ll need to bring to the role. Most importantly you’ll be a team player, and a person passionate about improving the lives of the most vulnerable in our society.
