We have an exciting opportunity for a senior Transport Manager with a highly successful organisation based in Cumbernauld
Sitting at a senior level of the company, the role offers a salary of up to £50k plus benefits.
We would invite applications from Transport Managers who have a background in compliance, who are able to implement strategies and practices to ensure the fleet and the drivers are all running safely and within all the regulations attached to the industry
We require someone who is approachable, who is hands on, and who can lead the team of drivers and hire desk controllers, promoting a culture of safety and compliance
To manage and run an expanding fleet of 35 trucks to inc. 2 trailers
Oversee time management of plant and vehicles fuel usage
Be the CPC holder for the company
Manage and maintain all regulations in accordance with Operators license conditions and drivers hours are adhered to
Ensure safe working environment assisted by the Health and Safety Manager for fleet, and workshop
Manage and maintain servicing and its costs
Manage and control the budget costs for the vehicles maintenance and workshop
Responsible for over 30 drivers, to including investigatory meetings and disciplinary procedures.
Responsible for keeping the vehicles and housekeeping clean tidy of the workshop and raising the standard of the company’s image
Oversee the breakdown programme and the workload of maintenance by the workshop and mechanics for vehicles and plant
To provide regular reports to the directors on vehicles costs
To hold weekly meetings with workshop and attain vehicle updates
To work closely with the General Manager ensuring vehicles meet the demand from the clients
Responsible for implementing continuous improvement.
Manage all accident and near miss reports for the vehicles.
Look to improve the costing of the workshop.
All fleet insurance procedures
Hold toolbox talks with workshop staff.
Adhere to ISO 9001, 14001 and the 45001 programme currently under audit.
Management of drivers room updating notice boards, flyers on drivers checks/ safety / company procedures
Ensuring all Drivers are given and signed a copy of the driver’s Handbook advising of their responsibilities for CPC
