Monday to Fridays (Days)Starting salary of up to £35,000About Our ClientOur client is a consumer items distributor who due to expansion plans across the UK require a Transport Shift Manager on site. This role will manage a team of 25 drives including dealing with all appraisals, disciplinaries, compliance checks and debriefs.Job Description* Ensure all aspects of Transport legal compliance and Health & Safety are maintained and that deliveries are made on time and at the right standard* Operate within budget/KPI levels of the site and strive to exceed these expectations* Manage and investigate all delivery issues, communicating effectively to both internal and external clients as required* Involvement in the recruitment and training of new starters - operations staff and drivers* Maintain regular reviews and develop Personal Development Plans for all team members to maximise their contributions to the department* Conduct safety conversations with all colleagues to engage and raise awareness of Health & Safety* Review and conduct risk assessments of the site, delivery points and collection points and complete regular work place inspections* Ensure full adherence to all statutory and legal requirements* Manage the team's performance in line with Drivers Hours and WTDThe Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate must live within a commutable distance to Tadcaster and hold the following attributes:Previous experience as a Transport Supervisor/Transport Shift ManagerTransports Managers CPC is desirableIOSH certificated is desirableGood knowledge of transport complianceGood IT skills including MS Office with a high level of numeracy and a keen eye for detailWhat's on OfferThe successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of up to £35,000 and other benefits.
