An exciting and challenging opportunity is available to join the Estates and Facilities Directorate as Transport Services Manager, reporting in to the Deputy Head of Facilities (Support Services, Security & Transport). Managing the strategic and operational delivery of a range of transport services and projects, including Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPTS), taxi and courier services, inter-site staff transport and car parking, you will lead a small in-house team with two direct reports to deliver a first class, cost effective transport service through a number of third party suppliers. The successful candidate will have in depth knowledge of complex transport services, ideally, in a healthcare setting, will understand and be able to demonstrate third party service delivery management, and sound contract management experience. While steadfastly patient focussed, budget management to deliver value for money including revenue generating services, regulatory compliance, positive service user experience and internal stakeholder engagement will also be key success factors in this role. The Trust operates across three major sites in West London with a number of smaller satellites units within the M25. , The role is site based and you will be expected to travel between sites as required. Occasional remote working may be accommodated by agreement.Main duties of the jobThe Transport Service Manager will report to the Deputy Head of Facilities (Support Services, Security & Transport) Manager and will provide appropriate support to the Deputy Head of Facilities (Support Services, Security & Transport) in the delivery of all transport service functions across the Trust. This will include overseeing the administrative functions within the department, service delivery, both in house and through third party providers and ensuring all key performance targets are met, Standard Operating Procedures adhered to and resources managed within allocation. The Transport Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate data is available, analysed and presented to support Transport Service decision making, forging the gap between resources and Transport Service quality management. The post holder will provide an increased focus on the delivery of streamlined, efficient services which are managed and benchmarked against sector and nationally. These roles will lead on the project management of the cost reduction programmes and organisational change. Transport Services is currently comprised of Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPTS), taxi services, inter-site transport service, car parking and courier service.
