Job Title: Transport Planner
Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: �30,000 - �35,000
Hours: 4 on, 4 off, 7am-7pm
Are you a skilled and experienced Transport Planner looking for an exciting new opportunity? Our client, a leading logistics company in Bedfordshire, is seeking a motivated professional to join their team. If you have a passion for optimising operations and ensuring seamless deliveries, this could be the perfect role for you!
About the Role:
As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that operations meet and exceed the contracted standards of deliveries to all customers. Your expertise in planning, compliance, and resource management will be key to maintaining high performance against defined KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
*Efficient Planning: Ensure drivers' schedules comply with legal driving limits, anticipating variables such as congestion.
*KPI Management: Deliver agreed KPI reports to the Head of Operations (HOO), supported by accurate data and root cause analysis.
*Shift Management: Oversee handover sheets at shift changes, addressing any issues within 15 minutes and communicating with the HOO as needed.
*Escalation Procedures: Implement and review escalation plans for planning issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication with the HOO.
*Training & Compliance: Ensure all team members receive adequate training, maintain up-to-date job descriptions, and follow relevant work instructions and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
About You:
*Experienced Planner: At least 2 years of experience in vehicle routing and planning.
*Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with Transport Management Systems.
*Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively, support colleagues, and promote team ethos.
*Effective Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and accurately.
*Problem Solver: Self-motivated with the ability to show initiative, develop creative solutions, and work under pressure.
